I will begin with the fact that I am self taught. While living in Holland
for 10 years, I became interested in the folk art from the village of
Hindeloopen. Once I was able to paint in this style, I was then able
to do it on handmade miniatures (1′=1″ scale). I have been showing
and selling my miniatures at shows around the country since the
early 80s.

Plaza on Main, located at 174. E. Main St., features 10,000 square feet full of handmade items by local artisans. From soaps and fine art to pottery and home improvement classes, the Plaza is designed as a permanent showcase for local artisans whose work is generally seen at festivals and art shows.

“We are excited to bring a new shopping and dining experience to downtown Spartanburg,” says Nancy Riehle, who co-owns the Plaza with Cheryl Parris. “And we are thrilled to provide artisans and entrepreneurs with a venue in which to build their businesses.”
